Happy Holidays From Verdani Partners!
|
|
It has been a year of tremendous growth for the Verdani Partners team! We added two new corporate sustainability clients and three new communications clients to our portfolio. We also expanded into an additional office space and added 10 new members to our team.
It was a very productive 2019 as well with a grand total of 50 building certifications among clients including Fitwel and LEED systems, 26% of which were certified as LEED Platinum. In addition, during 2019 we submitted 29 GRESB assessments on behalf of 11 national and international real estate portfolio clients. We also produced content for nine annual reports and completed designs for seven annual reports.
It has been an amazing year and we are so grateful for the hard work from everyone on the team to support our clients and contribute to our purpose-driven work at Verdani Partners. We look forward to a great year in 2020 and wish you a very Happy New Year!

Our Client's GRESB Leadership in 2019
|
|
We are very proud of our client's performance in the 2019 GRESB Assessment. We submitted 29 GRESB assessments on behalf of 11 national and international real estate portfolio clients. Several clients lead in their categories and five funds ranked in the top three, six funds ranked in the top five, nine funds ranked in the top ten, and eight funds increased their scores between an impressive 11 and 24 percent in one year from 2018 to 2019. It is an honor to support clients who are so dedicated to advancing sustainability in the built environment.

Verdani 2020 Insights
Reflecting on our work over the last 7 years, in a new 2020 Insights series, Verdani shares top trends that we are seeing across the sustainable real estate industry. The first "Top 3" trends are the following:
-
Expanded ESG Impact: As green buildings outperform the rest of the market, investors are demanding better performance from their buildings and portfolios. Real estate companies need to scale their sustainability and resilience efforts to show they are demonstrating ESG action with ESG criteria woven throughout whole business strategies.
-
Improved Data: Data collection and tracking is increasingly accurate and efficient, which helps owners better understand energy consumption and helps them take action to make their buildings more efficient. Some factors include new benchmarking laws that result in consumption data being more accessible because they require utilities to share whole building data with building owners.
-
Greater Transparency: We have seen greater transparency across the real estate industry through ESG reporting and financial disclosures. Real estate investors are demanding more insight into asset level and portfolio level performance as sophisticated assessment and reporting standards become required, such as GRESB, GRI, CDP, UNPRI, DJSI and MSCI, among others.
