The Verdani team is thrilled to attend the upcoming Greenbuild 2018 Conference and Expo for the 6th consecutive year. Taking place in Chicago, the city with the most green certified buildings in the country and one of the first in the world to receive the LEED for Cities Platinum certification, Verdani President Daniele Horton and Vice President Jessica Loeper will be presenting speakers at the conference.
We are also delighted to announce that Verdani will be co-sponsoring Greenbuild’s biggest after-party for the second year in a row!

VERDANI NAMED FITWEL CHAMPION
|
|
We are excited to announce our new Fitwel Champion designation awarded to us by Fitwel and the Center for Active Design for our submission of at least six projects within a 12 month period. In early 2018, Verdani's Fitwel Ambassadors submitted our first Fitwel project for client CommonWealth Partners, and shortly after, we submitted six Fitwel projects for client Clarion Partners. Clarion’s five multifamily properties represent the largest submission by one company utilizing the multifamily scorecard. Contact us for support with your Fitwel projects.

VERDANI SETS SCIENCE BASED TARGETS
|
|
|
|
Verdani joined 498 companies taking science-based climate action by committing to our own Science Based Targets and supporting ambitious efforts to keep the global temperature rise within 2°C. Verdani aims to reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions of 30% by 2030 from a 2017 base-year. Additionally, we intend to limit Scope 3 emissions by internally tracking and engaging the team to minimize our overall carbon footprint.

AB 802 Stakeholder Engagement
In October of 2015, the State of California passed Assembly Bill 802 (AB 802) to establish a Benchmarking and Disclosure Program, requiring owners of certain buildings to benchmark and disclose their building’s energy performance through ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. Green Apple Day of Service
Verdani volunteered at Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary with the PTA and parents to revamp the school's landscaping. Nearly 30 individuals, including our data management partners at Measurabl, did a campus-wide garden clean up, and planted native, pollinator-friendly, and drought-resistant plants that support the local habitat and biodiversity. Verdani’s clients have shown sustained growth with the 2018 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment. Seven of the eight portfolios under our management have achieved top 10 rankings, three clients scored in the top five, CommonWealth Partners ranked in the top three performers for the fourth year in a row, and Parkway and Jamestown Properties achieved a number one global ranking with perfect scores on the new Resilience Module.

In our new Verdani Education platform, we offer sustainable real estate and ESG best management practices to our clients, community, students, and other industry professionals. In 2018, we doubled our office space and opened our Communications Department in the Carlsbad, CA headquarters with Paulynn Cue and Adam Lindquist. We also added four new employees to our nationwide corporate sustainability and engineering teams including Kara Edmonson, Chika Acholonu, Valerie Chan and Andrea Paul.
