Kara is a Director of Sustainability for Verdani Partners and Parkway Property Investments, LLC, and provides strategic oversight to several other Verdani client portfolios.
As Director of Sustainability for Parkway’s 100-percent-LEED-certified, Class-A office real estate portfolio in Houston, Texas, Kara manages all aspects of their corporate ESG program: program strategy and performance management, corporate responsibility, ESG policy creation, sustainability attributes assessment, stakeholder and tenant engagement, sustainability marketing, annual GRESB and ESG reporting, LEED-EB O+M certification and recertification, gap analysis and ROI, LEED and sustainability training, and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
Over the course of her 17-year career, Kara has served as a LEED consultant on over 50 certification projects, and as a contracted reviewer for GBCI, conducted application reviews for over 40 LEED-EB-certified buildings. Kara is a LEED AP O+M and holds a MS degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a BA in Biology from Lewis & Clark College.
