Based in San Diego, Shubha Maheshwari brings more than 13 years of experience in Sustainable Real Estate, ESG and Architecture to her role and is responsible for implementation of PGIM Real Estate’s global ESG program, guiding oversees strategy, implementation and operations of the ESG team at portfolio and fund level, guides the direction of the program, determines priorities to accelerate the reduction of its worldwide environmental footprint and increase the impact of it social initiatives.
Concurrently, Shubha oversees the ESG consulting team of more than 10 corporate sustainability specialists and energy engineers producing GRESB and ESG investor reporting, ESG strategy at the portfolio-, corporate-, fund- and asset-levels. Shubha has been integral in developing tools and resources such as a 10-year ESG Strategy and ESG Due Diligence Assessment Scorecard. Shubha is a member of PGIM Real Estate’s Global ESG Council. She was recognized in the Environment + Energy Leader’s top 100 honoree list in 2020, and theboardIQ’s Hall of Fame Top 100 Asian American Exceptions Leaders that are making an impact, in 2021.
Prior to her work with PGIM Real Estate, Shubha was Director of Sustainability for Verdani’s client Colony Capital and American Realty Advisor. Prior to joining Verdani, Shubha worked for Goby as their Energy Engineer where she performed Asset level technical assessments and certifications. Prior to that Adrian Smith Gordon Gill Architecture and its sister PositivEnergy Practice, where she led the creation of ‘Encompass tool’ a building energy usage online calculator, including 250,000+ energy models, created for the City of Chicago, and worked on high-performance design for several skyscrapers around the globe, including the Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia. Shubha holds LEED AP BD+C credential, is a Fitwel Ambassador and completed Climate Leadership training by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project She earned a bachelor’s in Architecture from Nagpur University and master’s degree in Sustainable Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
